ABOUT
MABYL, was established in 2017, by Teri Worthington. Inspired by her affinity for exotic leathers, premium materials and stellar quality, she carved a niche and produced a handbag line that embodies the like. Favoring quiet luxury and anonymity to the overtly recognizable, Teri desired an aesthetic that aims to leave one wondering the source, while admiring the craftsmanship of a modern yet timeless design.
Sample production is based in New York City. However, given her penchant for bespoke projects, all custom designs are made by hand in her studio in Nashville, Tennessee. MABYL is named for her beloved maternal grandmother.
MABYL is all handmade using ethically sourced alligator, crocodile, snakeskin, ostrich, and lizard. All which follow the strict CITES guidelines.
In 2019, Teri introduced MABYL'S men's collection, RAY HAMPTON. Handcrafted using only the finest materials, all products are hand sewn by Teri, using traditional saddle-stitching. This centuries old technique involves the use of two needles, one at each end of Fil au Chinois linen thread. The needles pass each other through the leather creating a strong seam that will last a lifetime, if not beyond. The edges are creased with a filateuse and then hand painted creating a luxurious result. Like all MABYL designs, utmost consideration is given to maintaining uncompromised quality and craftsmanship, while utilizing all ethically sourced exotic skins and hides.
